Prevents contamination of water supply.

Used in supply line to water power-powered emergencey sump pump to prevent back up. It also doubles as a Union.

What is the pressure in PSI required to open check valve; i.e. how many feet of head will it add to my system?

Honeywell does not specify this information, however, the pressure drop is negligible since the internal springs have little tension.
