Grundfos SQE well pump systems are the solution to the problem of large footprint and inconsistent pressure typical for traditional well pumps installed in conjunction with a well storage tank (such as Amtrol Well-X-Trol) and a pressure switch.
A Grundfos SQE system typically consists of an SQE pump, CU301 control box, pressure sensor and a 2 or 4 gallon expansion tank (which is sold separately). Without these components, the Grundfos SQE pump will operate as a regular SQ model.
The main advantage of Grundfos SQE well pump system over traditional systems is 3" pump diameter, which is suitable for 3" wells (that are less expensive to drill) and it's ability to adjust the pump's output according to the water demand, eliminating pressure drop problems and saving energy. Standard features on the SQE series well pumps include:
· 304 Stainless Steel construction
· 3" pump/motor for 3" or larger wells
· 2-wire design For a complete SQE system: select SQE well pump and add SKU# 96438895 (CU301 control box and pressure transducer kit) and SKU# 91121984 (2-gallon well expansion tank).
Applications:
Grundfos SQE series well pump system is suitable for almost any project where small system footprint and constant water pressure is required. Such projects include, but are not limited to domestic water supply, irrigation, light commercial applications, boosting, agricultural and many others.
Why Grundfos SQE?
1. Ability to program the desired water pressure.
2. The SQE pump is variable speed, which means it will adjust the output to meet the pre-set pressure whether a single water tap is opened, or several at once.
3. 3" wells are less expensive to drill and set up.
4. The SQE pump consumes less energy that regular well pumps.
5. With only the CU301 control box and a small 2 or 4 gallon tank to install, the system takes up minimum space.
6. The Grundfos SQE well pump and it's components are built to last - from stainless steel pump body, to tungsten carbide/ceramic impeller bearings and sand-resistant internal components.
And many, many others.
How to read a Grundfos SQE pump?
Example: 22SQE07-120 model
22 - Rated flow in GPM (gallons per minute)
SQE - represents SQE series
07 - 3/4 HorsePower (1/2 HP model will have "05", 1 HP - "10", etc.)
120 - Total Dynamic Head, or TDH of pump in ft of head.
What is TDH?
TDH stands for Total Dynamic Head and is used to represent the head capability of the pump in ft of head.
TDH = Dynamic Head + Required System Pressure + Friction Loss + Elevation Above Grade.
Note: System Pressure must be converted from PSI to ft of head first. (1 PSI equals 2.31 ft of head)
Pressure drop due to friction can be calculated by looking up the numbers in a pressure drop table supplied by the manufacturer of pipes used for well casing (galvanized steel or others). Flow rate should be the pumps' max. rated flow in GPM.
