Hesting unit in our house. It was very easy to install. The screws on the electric cap did not fit.

Used the Grundfos to replace a Taco 007 as the circulator in a baseboard hot water system. It's alot quieter than the Taco was both at the pump and throughout the house. Previously I could hear the pump humming through the pipes even on the second floor of the house. No humming noise with this Grunfos. I would buy this pump again for sure.

We not have heat on the first floor!

Easy to install. Works fine. My second. This was on the first zone of a hot water system that heated our first floor. Second floor was by our first Grundfos pump.

There are similar pumps available, but the Grundfos UP15-42F is well suited for residential heating systems; economical and reliable.

I went to switch out the pump at my home and am installing the same as coming out Grundfos 15-42f but read further and said this pump is cast iron. It seems like they dont recommend this for home use. Sounds like they recommend stainless "cast iron circulator designed for use in closed loop heating applications, such as radiant heating, baseboards, fan coils, etc.Grundfos..." Any comments if cast iron is safe to use, it is for hot water recirculating in my home.

Pump seems to work well, but not consistently. Water comes out hot when the cold water is turned on. Plus when it does come out hot on either the hot or cold faucets, neither lasts long. Also, the pump does not distribute hot water throughout the whole house. I am having to unplug the pump in order to take a shower in the upstairs bath.

If you're using this circulator pump for pressure boosting applications, it will not work because it is not designed for such applications. Similarly, cast iron circulators are not intended for use in domestic hot water recirculating applications, as they corrode rather quickly when exposed to fresh (oxygenated) water. Instead, a stainless steel or bronze circulator pump is used. Your specific issue may not necessarily be associated with the above, but could originate from the way the system is piped or other system components, since circulator's operation is rather simple - it is either on or off.
