5-branch Premium Stainless Steel PEX Manifold Set for Radiant Heating Applications.

1/2" PEX Adapters included.

 

Comes pre-assembled, and includes the following components:

(1) Supply side stainless steel PEX manifold with (5) adjustable flow meters (indicators) and (5) PEX tubing outlets.

 

(1) Return side stainless steel PEX manifold with (5) manual balancing valves and (5) PEX tubing outlets.

 

(2) 1" IPS Shut-off ball valves (1/4-turn) - one for each manifold (blue handle for return manifold and red handle for supply).

 

(2) Temperature gauges on both manifolds to monitor supply and return water temperatures.

 

(1) Float-type air vent to eliminate air from the system - on return side (air vent cap included for pressure testing purposes).

 

(2) Drain valves with 3/4" garden hose connection and a cap.

 

(10) Compression-style adapters for 1/2" PEX tubing.

 

(2) Wall mounting brackets.

Installed this beauty and not a single drop of water leaked when the system was charged. I would recommend this well designed, handsome and rugged manifold to anyone. Too bad it's in my basement where nobody sees it.

Can the Taco zone valves be used with this manifold and, if so, how do they attach to the manifold?

The only zone valves which you can use with these manifolds are SSM101 and SSM201 actuators (2-wire and 4-wire respectively). The latter has an end switch which communicates with the pump control to avoid early start-up. They are compatible with standard 24V zone valve control panels, such as Taco ZVC series and are wired in the same manner as standard Taco, Honeywell or similar zone valves. Actuators are installed on the return manifold in place of the manual balancing valves (white color knobs on SSM and blue on BSM series radiant manifolds).

I am curious as to the accuracy of the flow meters and how to properly adjust them. I notice if I lift the red cap I can thread the assembly out some and if I turn them the entire way in the flow reads 0. How to I set these to give me a proper reading. Thank you

Flow meters should come factory adjusted (unscrewed to the max.) to allow for maximum flow, therefore it is generally not necessary to use them for flow adjustments and balancing valves are used instead. A flow meter can be used to reduce water flow by removing the red plastic cap and screwing it in clockwise (when seen from top). The accuracy of reading will not change, only the actual flow.

Are the supply and return fittings compatible with 3/4" copper adapters? In other words are they 3/4 NPT threads?

No. These are garden hose type threads and are intended for use only with the PEX adapters (3/8", 1/2", 5/8") we carry.

Will the input side of the manifold connect directly to standard 1" NPT iron pipe? Can you also verify that I can use standard 1/2 oxygen barrier PEX (BPR1230) to connect to the supply and return fittings?

Can this unit be mounted upside down so the pex runs up?

We do not recommend this option since in upside-down installation flow meters may accumulate sediment from water (in a manner similar to a dirt trap) and would require earlier replacement. A better option is to install the radiant manifold in it's normal position, as shown on the picture, and route the PEX upwards from the side.

Will this manifold work with 5/8 Wirsbo hePEX

Both SSM and BSM series radiant manifolds are compatible with hePEX tubing from Wirsbo (Uponor). Keep in mind that manifold adapters are regular compression type, not expansion type like Uponor's, so you won't have to expand the pipe prior to making a connection.
