Plastic Bend Supports are manufactured from fiber-reinforced Nylon and are used in conjunction with PEX tubing to provide a smooth 90-degree turn in any direction. Drop ear on the bend support allows securing it to any wooden surface with regular screws.
Plastic Bend supports vs Steel Bend Supports
When choosing the right type of bend supports for your PEX installation, consider the following:
Plastic Bend Supports are used for indoor PEX installation - in the walls, ceilings, etc. They are lightweight and do not increase stress on the tubing. Drop Ear will allow to attach the Bend Support to virtually any surface, thus providing support where needed.
Steel Bend Supports are manufactured from corrosion resistant galvanized steel and are used in concrete slabs to provide 90-degree turns where needed. Steel Bend Supports are heavier then plastic ones. They will add weight to the overall tubing run and will act as a sinker to prevent tubing from floating.
