The HEC-2 (Bumble Bee) represents the latest in variable speed wet rotor circulator technology. Its high efficiency ECM motor uses up to 85% less electricity than a standard circulator. 360° swivel flange makes it easy to install. Most importantly, the Bumble Bee’s Delta-T variable speed technology maximizes the overall efficiency of your heating system. The Bumble Bee is engineered for energy savings, ease of installation, versatility in the field and ultimate comfort.

Programmable PC board with LED display and 3 operating modes:

  • CP – Constant Power: (Fixed Speed) Mode allows for 4 fixed circulator speeds.
  • SP – Set Point: Mode allows for a fixed supply temperature, 65°F - 220°F.
  • dE – Delta-T: Mode allows for a fixed temperature differential (ΔT) range from 5°F - 50°F.

Features:

  • High efficiency ECM Motor reduces power consumption by up to 85%;
  • Fully Programmable;
  • Plug-in remote temperature sensors included;
  • LED displays real-time mode, watt usage and GPM flow;

Works Great on Radiant System
By Tom D (from Virginia Hampton Roads area) on 9/5/2014
I installed this with 3 zone radiant system using a navion combi boiler, couldn't be happier, pump varies from 12, 29, 42 watts of power depending on how many zones are calling. 42 watts is the max power the unit will draw. I didn't have to do much setup, the unit worked right out of the box. Only comment is watch out the small leads off the pump to the temperature sensors must be connected in the correct order! Watch the pictures carefully in the instructions. I installed a duplicate system in another home and had issues until I figured this was the problem! I actually bought the pumps from another supplier because Pex universe didn't offer this until now. I did buy everything else I needed from Pex universe.

By Momchil, Lic Plumber (from Sacramento,CA) on 8/16/2016
Impressive product Taco! So easy to set it. Just one thing to mention- it is little loud with this ECM motor. If near bedroom may hear it during night. During day-no way.

This works great for floor heat designs. Make sure to order the flange kits with the pump.

What is the flange size?
Read 1 answer
It's a standard flange, with 3-1/8" (3.125") OC (on center) hole distance. It works with all the flanges and flange isolation valves we carry.

what is the temperature sensor lead lengths for the Taco HEC-2 pump?
Read 1 answer
2-wire temperature sensor which comes with the HEC-2 model has 12" long leads and the sensor bulb itself is ~3/4" long x 1/4" in diameter. The bulb is strap-on style and also comes with a single nylon zip tie to secure it over the pipe.
