Side Wall Radon Mitigation System, 160 cfm
Tjernlund RMS160 Sidewall Radon Mitigation System offers an effective and affordable way to reduce radon levels in existing homes through Side Wall Venting which keeps the mitigation system out-ofsight, eliminating unsightly PVC pipe runs up the home's exterior.
The Radon VAC fan is engineered to reduce radon across a variety of sub-slab soil types (dirt, gravel, etc.). It features a sealed, galvanized housing and a PSC permanently lubricated, quiet, low watt motor.
Unlike traditional radon fans, the motor is not exposed to air stream moisture, extending motor life. The corrosion-proof Variable Aspiration Control Hood dilutes the radon gas with fresh outdoor air as it exits the hood and safely propels it away from the structure.
The Radon VAC will save the homeowner hundreds of dollars in extra materials and labor compared to typical radon mitigation installations
Requires only a 4" hole through wall. Fan and hood connect directly to 3" PVC pipe. Just plug in the 6' power cord to operate.
Works well, a bit loud.
Once installed, it lowered my radon level quite a lot. Could use better installation instructions - dry assemble everything first, before gluing, to avoid disaster. The assembly sequence becomes clear once you think about it.When running, the fan is louder than a typical vertical mount radon fan. I'd suggest adding a rubber pad between the mounting bracket and the joist or floor of your house, wherever you fasten the bracket.
