Liberty Effluent Pumps are normally installed in septic tanks to pump away the effluent waste to the leach field. Models available with various switch types and horsepower ratings. High head models are also available for applications with deep septic tanks or where effluent waste has to be moved a substantial distance.
The 1/3 HP effluent pumps are typical for small to medium size residential applications, whereas 1/2 HP models are more common for larger size projects.
2 year warranty standard on all models. FREE shipping on all Liberty effluent pumps.
Retailers like PexUniverse have the legal right to set their own prices independently, but some manufacturers place restrictions on how those prices may be communicated. Because our price on this item is lower than the manufacturer's "minimum advertised price", the manufacturer does not allow us to show you our price until you take further action, such as placing the item in your shopping cart, or in some cases, proceeding to the final checkout stage. The steps required depend on the details of the manufacturer's minimum advertised price policy. Taking these steps allows PexUniverse to show you our price consistent with our goal of always offering you the lowest possible prices on the widest selection of products.
This won't require you to purchase the product. You can easily remove it from your cart if you decide not to buy it.
We realize that this is an inconvenience and are regularly working to educate manufacturers on how their policies impact our customers.
Difference between Liberty Effluent Pumps & Sump Pumps:
· The most noticeable difference is the fact that Liberty effluent pumps do not come with vertical mechanical float switch, whereas the sump pumps do. The reason is the higher sensitivity of the vertical mechanical float switch, which causes the pump to activate and deactivate more frequently.
· Another important difference is the ability of effluent pumps to handle small solids of up to 3/8-1/2" in diameter, which are common for effluent waste.
· A Liberty effluent pump can replace a sump pump if needed, but the opposite is rarely true.
· Nearly all effluent pumps are designed with higher head than sump pumps mainly because their job involves moving liquid waste at higher elevations and greater distances.
The importance of selecting a proper switch type:
Since automatic effluent pumps come with either wide angle float switch or piggyback float switch, it is important to understand how and when they are used.
Wide angle float switch directly attached to the effluent pump is best for applications where factory preset ON and OFF levels are sufficient for normal operation of the system, for instance - less frequent use or large base septic tank.
Piggyback float switches, in many cases, can be detached, remotely mounted and adjusted to activate and deactivate the pump at levels other than preset by factory. Such pump design also allows for easier servicing of the float switch in case of failure and will allow to run the effluent pump in "manual" mode if necessary.
Sizing a Liberty effluent pump:
Similar to any other pump, effluent pumps are sized based on flow requirements and system head parameters. The later mainly represents the height at which the pump has to elevate the liquid. By looking at pump curve charts on page with product, an installer can determine whether the pump is sufficient to output adequate flow (in GPM) based on elevation (in ft of head).
For 25' cord on model numbers ending in "0", "1", or "7" add "-2" suffix.
