No issues with this product so far.
I installed this product into the concrete slabs on my new home and other than one cut where a guy got a little too close with a chainsaw, I have had no leaks so far. You do have to be a little careful to not kink the product since the aluminum layer tends to hold whatever shape you bend it to, but this was only when I wasn't paying attention. If you use your hands to form the bends, there isn't any issue.

Ask a Question
Ia Al-PEX bettter than PEX?Can it be run on higher teperature and PSI than PEX?
Helpful? Yes 4 No
It has the same pressure ratings as regular PEX tubing, but adds "memory" feature which allows the tubing to keep it shape when bent and therefore simplifies the installation process. PEX-AL-PEX also expands and contracts less with temperature changes, which makes it popular for under-floor applications where tubing is staples to the subfloor.

which PEX type can be used outside with exposure to UV rays and what is the life span under those conditions including salt water exposure? Thanks
Helpful? Yes 2 No
PEX tubing is not designed for outdoor use and has to be shielded from the UV light.

It is type B (not grade B). The letters A, B and C refer to manufacturing process and have nothing to do with grade or quality.

Can this be reamed and used directly with the Viega 1/2 inch press tool and appropriate fittings, or does the outer layer and aluminum sheathing need to be stripped away prior to using press fittings as it does with the FostaPEX tubing?
Helpful? Yes No
FostaPEX is a Viega's proprietary product and does not match the dimensional specifications of regular PEX-AL-PEX. Therefore, Viega's tools and fittings are not compatible with standard PEX-AL-PEX pipe. You can use regular PEX-AL-PEX compression fittings and reamer tool we sell for the latter.

There is a different Compression Manifold Adapter SSM212 for PEX-AL-PEX and SSM512 is used for PEX. Can PEX fittings like BPF6802 be used with PEX-AL-PEX?
Helpful? Yes No
No. PEX crimp fittings only work with regular PEX.
