Little Giant no longer Giant?
By Retired Mechanical Engineer (from Indiana) on 1/29/2016
I purchased this pump as an upgrade from a 25 yrs or so old 6CIA. The micro switch control usually lasts about 3 years. The failure has always been welded contacts in the micro switch. This causes the pump to run non-stop which is the preferred failure mode in a sump pump. However, this pump was delivered with oil leaking from the casting riser in the center of the top cap. I wonder what has happened to Franklin Electric's (Little Giant) QC. It took Pex about 2 weeks to replace the pump. No problem with them, just wonder about the quality of the pump.
